"So you got stuck in the middle of the field, your captain must like you. Not only do you have to cover your base, which is constantly being attacked by sliding baserunners set on taking out your ankles, but you have to get the short pop-ups, too!
Make sure you're clear of the baseline. If a runner hits you they get the base. Keep your eyes on all bases for the closest play. Quick thinking can turn a double play! (Taking the base away while a runner is tagging up doesn't count!)
